I have loved fashion since I was a little girl, and can still remember watching runway shows from the days when I couldn't tie my own shoes. I wore princess heels everywhere I went as a youngster, and refused to let my mom pick out my outfits ever. I dressed myself every single day, and wouldn't let anybody tell me otherwise. I was a stylish child, often combining star shaped sunglasses with striped leggings from the GAP, and overalls. I basically walked in a fashion show everywhere I went. I also went through a phase of designing actually clothing, and I accumulated thousands of sketches. To this day, fashion is still something that is so important to me. I love planning outfits, and styling looks, and picking out zany items. I follow Fashion Week closely, and always stay updated on the latest trends. I genuinely loves clothes. So, I obviously absolutely live for New York Fashion Week.
New York Fashion Week is here again, and has literally slayed me already in the first two days. New York Fashion Week is September 8th-15th, and the iconic looks are rolling out with each show. Let's see which looks make a comeback, and what new concepts are introduced!
One of my favorite shows thus far has been the Tommyx Gigi show. Gigi Hadid debuted her collection, in collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger on Friday, September 9th. The looks from this collection give me life. This collection is sexy, sporty, and preppy all at once. Two of my favorite pieces are: the green bomber jacket, and the blue blazer. The pieces in this collection are versatile enough to be used in several looks, but also reflect Gigi's personal style. 12/10 To Gigi and Tommy on this one.
At the Alexander Wang show on September 10th, Kylie Jenner, Tyga, Madonna, and CL sat front row. Wow, just wow. This collection is a little of everything. Wang also featured his collaboration with Adidas, and opened the show with a stunning lighting montage, and the sounds of engines. The show featured cropped looks, with scrappy ensembles, and moved into street style clothing. Kendall Jenner walked in the show, with support from Kylie in the front row. The show then moved into gowns, and when the audience thought it was over, the models walked out after an Adidas promo, in Adidas Wang collab attire. It was everything.
I can't wait to see what New York Fashion Week still has in store, and look forward to more cutting edge looks this season. NYFW, one day I will be at you, okay.
