9 Reasons Why New York City Is The Best Vacation Destination

New York City is everything you need and more for your next big trip.

Even if you aren't a big fan of big cities, hear me out. New York has much more than you think. It's not really just a big city with rude people. It has something in it for every single type of person out there. If you have been there, you know what I'm talking about but if you haven't, it is a must see. I've traveled there twice and have enjoyed every trip, even though there is still a lot that I haven't seen.

1. The food

Everywhere you walk, you can find an amazing restaurant. Even if it's a hole in the wall restaurant, the odds are that it's still gonna taste amazing. Also, any restaurant that you can think of is in driving distance or even walking distance away and they are ALWAYS open.

2. The views

Weather it's a river or a skyscraper, the city has so many views of amazing things. You can walk 2 steps out of a doorway and see huge skyscrapers towering over the city. That's something to see, on it's own.

3. Walking/running

As a New York City visitor, you will walk everywhere. With the not so low prices of transportation, you almost have to. Sometimes that can be amazing but also hard on the feet. Overall, I feel that the breathtaking views are worth the pain.

4. Shopping

It's one of the largest "shopping cities" for a reason. From souvenir stores to fine jewelry, New York comes fully prepared to satisfy your shopping mood. Tour to Times Square for the ultimate shopping experience.

5. It never sleeps

Tired of not having places open when you are up at 2 a.m.? Well if you are a night owl or an early riser, the city never sleeps and food/attractions are always ready to be enjoyed.

6. There is something for everyone

Weather you love the city or prefer a nice quiet park, there is something for everyone. That's one thing that amazes me obvious the city. Even though the taxis are in the hundreds of thousands, tree population in central park is just as astonishing.

7. Central Park

One of my favorite spots in all the city. It comes equipped with a few ponds, a castle, baseball diamonds and a large area for picnics and walking. Fun fact: John Lennon's Strawberry Fields is there.

8. Broadway

Even if you aren't the type for Broadway shows or musicals, it's something that you must do if you visit. It doesn't matter what show, just see one! You may love it!

9. Times Square

Times Square is unlike any place I've ever been to, especially if you go at night. It has pretty much everything on this list and more to go around. I would highly recommend this destination if you ever visit the city. You will find that there is no better place to explore in this amazing city!

If you get the chance to visit the city, make sure to remember these reasons. I'm confident that you will find something to love about this great city!

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate.
