Here we are again, a new year along with a new year full of goals that you may or may not accomplish. Whatever your goals may be in life, there are some basic resolutions that should always be a part of your New Years Resolutions list; and no, I'm not talking about cutting down on the amount of drinks you buy at the bar on dollar night.

Be more positive

Now I'm not telling you that you have to be a happy ray of sunshine 24 hours of the day, but instead of constantly complaining, look more toward the bright side of things. Not everything is bad!

Drink more water

Often times, we don't drink enough water every day. Drinking enough water each day can reduce your risk of dehydration, can help clear up any skin problems, aid in weight management, and much more! So put down your third cup of Dunkin' coffee or your can of Coke, and drink some water.

Take more naps

Yes, you read that right. If you didn't get enough sleep throughout the night, help your body out and take a short nap. Naps will help you feel more energized and thus make you more productive during the day. Just don't take a 5 hour nap late in the afternoon, ya feel me?

Be more patient

Did you know that you're not always in a constant race against the world? Have some patience every once in a while. Being more patient can really reduce your stress that you are most likely putting on yourself. Take a breather, everything is going to be OK.

Talk more & text less

One of the best things in the world is good communication. You know what's even better? Communicating with someone in person! Instead of only communicating with others with your handy-dandy phone, why not meet up and have some real social interaction? Your followers on twitter can wait.

Take better care of yourself

This is not just limited to a balanced diet and exercise! This also includes more sleep and learning to love yourself and the body you are in. As Justin Bieber would say, "you should go and love yourself".

Have a great New Year and conquer 2017!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
