We all love to make resolutions for the upcoming year. Some we keep, and some we don't. We aren't perfect, so here are some simple but fulfilling resolutions you can make this upcoming year to help change your life for the better!

1. Reach out to your friends and family more often.

The people who surround our lives are our biggest influences. Our friends and family are the people who push us to try new things, hold our hands when we need reassurance, and celebrate even our tiniest of victories. They are the puzzle pieces of the puzzle we call life. Having a better relationship with your friends and family will help give you someone to depend on when you need help or talk to when you need someone to chat with. It's so nice to have someone that reaches out to catch up or just say hey, and you can be that person! Keeping in touch can help your bond grow stronger and relationship flourish. It can't hurt to try.

2. Get on a workout routine or schedule.

"Working out is hard." I have heard this time and time again but honestly, even some forms of stretching is a form of yoga. Physical health directly correlates with mental health. They are two of the most important factors you should be keeping up with to maintain a healthy lifestyle. A healthy mind is a healthy body as well as a healthy body being a healthy mind. It may seem tough at first, but you will get the hang of it! There are many forms of exercise you can try from yoga, running, pilates, cross fit, to even rowing! Lot's to choose from. There are so many viable sources to look up home workouts or workouts you can do in your backyard! Getting your body in check will help feed your mind and give it the nutrients and help balance whatever may not be on the right track. If you keep up with your workouts, even just 3 times a week I know you will see results and your body will thank you! Just get up and move!

3. Make better food choices.

Food. It can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Don't get me wrong, I love my fair share of pizza and french fries, I really do. BUT, I also like to feel good. Eating a clean and balanced diet with turn your world around. We get so tied up on copious amounts of coffee and energy drinks we forget that our body is supposed to fuel its self with spinach and shit but only as long as it's fueled correctly. I will never forget the day I woke up before my alarm clock and was excited to go to the gym. I asked, "What's wrong with me?". I thought through if I had a good night's sleep or heard a loud bang that woke me up but I remembered I was really just eating healthy. I had cut out sugar and dairy and cleaned up the snacking and BAM! I had energy at 5:30 am! Who TF has energy this early?! My body started picking up on the time I usually woke up and my brain told me it's time to wake up! Yes, your body can do this! Our bodies are a miraculous thing and we need to feed them correctly. We live in a fast-paced and processed world. Next meal time just think of what a healthier option may be and try it out. Pinterest is loaded with recipes and examples, let it be your how-to guide!

4. Set good sleeping habits.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I LOVE to sleep. I think about it all the time. I do like to have good sleep though. Weird sleep patterns and late nights are not my cup of tea. I actually start getting pretty antsy when I'm not on the right sleep cycle. Sleeping makes you happy! It's a proven fact! So why aren't we doing it right? Well, here it goes: get a bedtime. I know you aren't 5 years old, but keeping a schedule is key! You have to get your body into a routine. I know you aren't tired at 9 in the evening either but try it out, even if you have to count sheep an hour a night for a week. You can do this. A week is all you need and your body will crave the schedule. You will love waking up refreshed with your mind and body fully charged, You will be ready for WHATEVER the day throws at you.

5. Get organized and stay that way.

If you don't take any of the previous advice please try this! Problems staying organized or keeping up with things, tasks and plans? First, you need to go through EVERYTHING and throw away anything that you don't need anymore. Anything you haven't used in a year, anything that is broken, or anything that is missing pieces or doesn't have a matching piece. You honestly don't need it and I know it's causing clutter and quiet chaos. After you have done this, put everything in its place. Take everything from the kitchen and put it in the kitchen, everything for the bathroom and put it in the bathroom, etc., etc.

Once you have done this, you will feel refreshed and ready to take on anything that life throws at you! If you want a more detailed description on how to tidy, organize, and get your life together please refer to the best selling book "The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up" by Marie Condo; You will not be disappointed.

There are so many resolutions you can choose from, from giving up sweets to keeping your house clean. Whatever you decide to do, make sure it's something you believe in and are ready to commit to. Even if it's not a big resolution, you can prove it to yourself no matter how big or small it is. Just believe in yourself! Do what makes you happy, you got this!

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.
