On the 1st of the year, we will all sit down and make a list of things we want to improve about ourselves. Our lists will include "lose weight," "find love" and "make straight A's" - all things that (in all honesty) probably won't happen. I have compiled a list of more realistic resolutions that we may be able to keep throughout this year (or at least this month).
1. Step foot in the RAC for something - even if it's just to get a smoothie. Proximity to people trying to lose weight may inspire you to try to get a little fit.
2. Try to limit your Chick-Fil-A intake to one meal a day. When you think about how much oil you are eating, it's actually disgusting. Limiting down to one meal is certainly feasible.
3. Learn how to make your own pot of coffee. On average, a student spends around $20 a week on Starbucks if they don't know how to make their own coffee. Making your own coffee can cut those costs in half or even more!
4. Join a new club or find a new hobby. This is a great way to meet new people and maybe make steps in the direction of finding love.
5. Don't skip class! Even if you don't pay attention, having a presence to sign the roll helps to gain you a few extra credit points on your end of semester grade if nothing else. If this seems hard to you at least cut skips down to missing one class period a week.
I hope you find a few worthy goals for your new years resolutions and I hope even more that you keep a few of them after the semester starts!
Happy New Years, y'all!
