With the new year comes new years resolutions. A fresh start and the perfect time to set new goals for yourself. New year new me, am I right? Whatever your new year's resolution is, you don't have to succeed the very first week of the new year. It's OK to stumble.
Setting an attainable goal for yourself is the hardest part. Realizing there is an area in your life you can improve and speaking it into the universe is the first step. I know I always like to think I'm pretty much perfect but occasionally I guess I find maybe one or two areas that I can improve on in my life. Realizing what those areas are and making a commitment to yourself to improve is the hardest part and you already completed it.
People think that when the new year begins they have to start their resolution right then or it'll never happen. That, my friends, is a lie. Settle into the new year and figure out a game plan. If your resolution is to get healthier figure out the small changes you can make to your diet or exercise routines first. Small changes made throughout the year is how you will succeed.
Just because you make the goal doesn't mean you have to achieve it immediately. If you stumble along the way, fail completely, or don't even start making changes, that's OK. You have 365 days to accomplish this. Don't beat yourself up. No one makes a resolution and actually succeeds within the first week or even month. And if they do, they didn't challenge themselves hard enough.
The real challenge of resolutions is whether or not you try again. You may have started out the year great by going to the gym five days a week and not eating out but got in a rut of not going the next month. The challenge is, are you going to try again? Or tell yourself you failed and continue sitting on the couch feeling sorry for yourself. Hold yourself accountable and success will come.
