I'm probably the one of the worst people when it comes to keeping a New Year's resolution. For me, they usually fall through three days into the new year, if they ever get started at all. We all know that sometimes our New Year's resolutions don't always go the way the we imagine they will. The new year can come with a lot of high expectations that we can't always live up to.
Eating healthier.
You wanted to finally start eating all those health foods you've been pinning all year, but then you tell yourself you'll start once all of the holiday food is gone. Eating right is great, but it's probably going to be terrible until all the peppermint mocha is gone.
Exercise more.
It starts off so well, but goes down from there. If you don't see instant results is there even a point to it at all? And have you seen the gym during January? Working out is bad enough on its own, and it's even worse surrounded by strangers, and then it's too cold to go outside...This is one that can wait for a little while.
Handle your money better.
Don't we all want financial stability? This is something you probably need to be an actual functioning adult, but in college it's tough. All you can do is pray those Starbucks gift cards you got for Christmas last a while.
Relax.
Up until the second week of the semester, this will probably go really well.
Know what you're doing in life, or just have some sense of control in your life.
Does buying that new planner with the intention of using it to get everything together count? It should.
If anyone understands our struggles, it's Michael Scott. Yeah, our resolutions might not work right from the beginning, but we have all year for them. And even if they don't go as well as we hoped they would, just remember that you are Beyonce, always.
And if all else fails, just be Kelly Kapoor.
