8 New Year's Resolutions For The Basic AF Girl
Lifehack

Basic girls look forward to the New Year just as much as they look forward to the arrival of the pumpkin spice latte at Starbucks, Christmas/Ugg Season and all things Halloween related. We (and yes we, because just like many other girls, I am just as basic as the next one) look forward to celebrating the New Year with their best friends, family, drinks, food and sparklers. With the welcoming of the New year, many people make New Year's resolutions, or promises to themselves for the new year to "workout more," "eat healthier," or to "create more positivity in my life." BUT these promises we sometimes don't keep to ourselves during the new year. Basic girls are just the same, and here are a few of the New Year's resolutions that basic AF girls make to themselves:

1. Cutting back on the amount of Starbucks that you drink per week...okay maybe just per day.

Maybe you'll only go to Starbucks 4 days a week instead of the usual 7 days a week that you go....but you can still go multiple times a day right?

2. Eating healthier so you can achieve the perfect VS body by spring break.

After watching the Victoria Secret Fashion Show while shoving mounds of ice cream in your face, you've decided that for the New Year, you're going to drop all the unhealthy food, and starting eating healthier (no more ice cream, oreos, cake or junk food for you!). You want to be rocking that VS body by spring break.

3. Dropping all the drama from your life

Save the drama for your mama, am I right? Your life seems to have a lot of drama in it, boy drama, girl drama, you name it, you probably have experienced it and you "can't even" with the amount of drama in your life. This next year, you promise to keep all the drama to a minimum...unless some girl looks at your man the wrong way then it's fair game.

4. Spending less money.

Every time you look at your bank account, you cry a little bit inside looking at the one cent balance that exists in there. You promise to yourself that you're going to cut back on buying coffee (Dunkin' and Starbucks included), food, clothes and even alcohol.

5. Limiting the amount of times you go out every week.

Maybe instead of going out Wednesday through Saturday, I'll limit myself to only Friday and Saturday. But so many cute outfits to wear, so many cute Instagrams to take and all my friends are going. Okay, maybe you'll only cut out Wednesdays for now.

6. Committing to changing and sticking to your Instagram aesthetic.

Instagram is a serious thing, and you have to make sure that your aesthetic is perfect with every single photo. You're committing to yourself for the New Year to not be such a slacker when it comes to your Instagram feed.

7. Working out more.

In addition to eating healthier in the New Year, you also want to workout more often. Sure, 7 days a week seems like a stretch, but you're determined to get your butt in shape to achieve that VS body. 7 days a week...I can do it...okay maybe just 5 days....3 days...okay one day, that's doable.

8. Stepping up your wardrobe game.

Pinterest has you inspired for new ways to spice up your look in the New Year. You want to be a walking Pinterest model, and even though you have a ton of clothes already, it's time to revamp your closet. Time to get trendy!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
