My New Year's Resolutions from the age of 10

My New Year's Resolutions from the age of 10

For as long as I can remember, I've made New Year's resolutions whenever the clock struck midnight and the confetti started raining down around the room. Some I kept, some I... more or less tried

1. Learn how to hold my breath underwater for 20 seconds

2. Save up money to buy more Littlest Pet Shops.

3. Get my ears pierced without crying

4. Prove that unicorns might have existed at one point

5. Get to 1,000 on my jumprope.

Age 11

1. Grow my haircut out

2. Finish my Harry Potter books

3. Turn my homework in on time

4. Be nicer to my little sister

Age 12

1. Try to help my mom around the house more

2. Stop tracking mud in the house

3. Stop complaining, stop moping, stop being grouchy

4. Shoot 100 basketballs a day

5. Find out how to glue mom’s broken lamp together

Age 13


1. Get an A on all my math tests this year

2. Stop bullies who pick on people

3. Be nicer to girls

4. Stand up to the mean boys

Age 14

1. Save up money for a Lily Pulitzer outfit- buy the “prettier” clothes.

2. Fit in more

3. Tell my crush I like him

4. Eat less chocolate

5. Be skinnier

Age 15

1. Get a B on all my math tests this year

2. Find new high school friends

3. Join at least 6 clubs

4. Pole vault on the Track Team

Age 16

1. Find a nice boyfriend

2. Beat my Personal Record in the 200m dash


3. Eat more celery

4. Ace my exams

5. Try to sleep more at night


Age 17


1. Stay positive

2. Stop the addiction to Facebook

3. Cut out all sugar

4. IMPROVE ACT SCORE

5. Drink a bajillion glasses of water a day

6. Keep grades up

7. Pick a college

8. Drink more coffee

9. IMPROVE ACT SCORE. AGAIN.

Age 18

1. Try not to show my young age on campus

2. Make a ton of new college friends

3. Never drink a Four Loko again

4. Cut out junk food

5. Drink less coffee

6. Join the Newspaper

7. Control my drinking

8. Avoid the dining hall meatloaf and the freshman fifteen

Age 19

1. BE HAPPY
