We've all made them, stuck to them and broke them. Most of them don't last past March and some just stay fluffy declarations. Around this time New Year's Resolutions are created with whimsical thoughts and lofty expectations. Therefore they remain good ideas instead of being fulfilled.
What I do to break the cycle of lies I perpetuate each end of year is to create a vision board. My family and I created one last year. I bought a huge piece of poster board paper and we cut out old magazine and newspaper pictures and wrote down our goals for the coming year. We chose to post it up in a place that all of us would see it daily, as a reminder throughout the year not just one day.
This idea to make a vision board is simple and obvious. If you're not the arts and craft type try writing your vision down on a piece of paper. Make it short and sweet. Be realistic. And maybe this'll help you not to get sucked into the dark vortex of setting goals for the next 365 days and watching them slip away.
