New Year's Resolutions: How To Keep Them
Psychology Today

Every year people make New Year’s resolutions such to try to be better. They want to make a change in their life, but how easy is it to follow through? We all know it is hard to break habits so is it really possible to change? I have always had trouble keeping to my New Year's resolutions, but there are ways to help you keep them. I have had resolutions such as eat healthier, be more active and even be more social, but in the end, I realized that resolutions are harder to complete than you think.

The most common New Year's resolutions are to stay fit and healthy, lose weight, enjoy life to the fullest, spend less and save more, get organized, not make any resolutions, learn something new, travel more and read more. All of these have the theme of doing something new or improving your life. But how do you keep these New Year's resolutions?

1. Make short-term goals for your long term goals.

Make the goal possible by making it into small parts that are doable, and you will be shocked that it seems more manageable. The small goals make it into a journey and more enjoyable to accomplish.

2. Make a resolution with someone.

Working as a pair keeps you motivated to follow through on your resolution. They will keep you on track and bring some fun into it. You have someone to keep you going and to go through the struggles with you.

3. Do not give up.

Don’t give up just because its gets hard. Every new thing you try is hard, so why give up when you can push yourself a little bit more to be successful? Nothing in life is easy, and it all takes work.

4. Make it something that you realistically can do.

Do not make an impossible New Year's resolution. You will never be able to follow through if you make it unrealistic and know that you cannot successfully complete the goal.

Good luck with your New Year's resolutions. In fact, don’t make the change just because of the New Year, make it just because you want to better yourself.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
