Its the new year, and you know what that means new year's resolutions. Now we've all heard the basic new year's resolutions like lose weight or go on a diet. My new year's resolutions however are a little more different. I want to continue to succeed and stay on the path that I'm on. This past year has been my best one yet. I have a great group of friends and an amazingly supportive family. I've been lucky to have so many opportunities this year I've become the person I've always wanted to be. An ambitious, confident and outgoing person. This year I've gotten great grades, had a great experience at my first summer job, got my first leadership positional Neumann as Orientation Leader, passed my first nursing class, and am now given the opportunity to be a resident assistant. So many great accomplishments this year and I can't wait to see what the 2017 brings me. A couple of other more simple resolutions I have for myself is to eat more consciously and spend less money. My last resolution is that I am going to get better at communicating with my friends and family. When I get busy I just forget to stay in touch with those not around me everyday.

You can change lives. But I hope it's not at the expense of yours.
We care. People care. Don't let today be the end.
You don't have to live forever sad. You can be happy. It's not wrong to ask for help.

Suicide is a real problem that no one wants to talk about. I'm sure you're no different. But we need to talk about it. There is no difference between being suicidal and committing suicide. If someone tells you they want to kill themselves, do not think they won't do it. Do not just tell them, “Oh you'll be fine." Because when they aren't, you will wonder what you could have done to help. Sit with them however long you need to and tell them it will get better. Talk to them about their problems and tell them there is help. Be the help. Get them assistance. Remind them of all the things they will miss in life.
