Lets leave 2017 behind and allow 2018 to change us

Dear 2017,

When I look back onto my year of 2017, I think of the words change and grow. 2017 changed who I was as a person. I really think 2017 was the year that has made me who I really am today. It showed me that I am going to get hurt in this world, I am going to get let down but in order to grow I have to get back up and keep going for myself.

It showed me that I need to be more thankful for the good days and the people that truly love me in my life. It also opened my eyes up to the people that weren't in my life to better me and that I need to let go of them no matter how hard it is. 2017 has changed my hopes, my faith, the hurt, and my strength. Change. I have changed the bad and hurtful times that I experienced this year into learning and improvement. Growth.

I have changed into a fierce and more empathetic person. I hope and pray that 2018 will not only help me reach farther towards my goals but bring new and interesting things into my life.

Your year may have been completely different from mine or completely relate able. 2018 is a fresh start. A brand new 365 days for you and whatever happened is 2017 is in your past and you now have a new clean slate. Here are some things that I hope 2018 brings for your life and I suggest that will help you:

1) Become more empathetic to others and their feelings

2) Change your perception on the people you dislike; maybe they are different then you may think

3) Change your sleeping patterns; try to get more sleep, it will improve your mood and how you feel during the day

4) Remind your friends and family how much you love and care for them more; you never know what could happen and it's important to let them know that you are thankful for what they do for you.

5) Drink more water; trust me this can be harder then you think but it's healthy for your skin and body

6) Try new things; don't be scared to jump out of your normal routine and have some fun

7) If you are religious, Pray. Pray during your hard and good times

8) Get a journal; writing out whats going on in your life will reduce stress and allow you to vent

9) Surround yourself with positive and encouraging people; this will help you to be more positive and change your mindset on life

10) It's okay to cry

11) I hope 2018 takes the people hurting you out of your life and brings new people in

12) I hope 2018 shows you your strength and helps you see your strengths that you have

13) I hope 2018 takes you on adventures that you normally wouldn't of planned

14) I hope your anxiety isn't so high and you are able to breath again

15) And I hope you are able to stay more organized and planned out in your school stuff, your finances, etc.

This year, we don't know what's to come but if you can become a better you I guarantee you, your life will be impacted.

College is filled with many things, and we're so often lectured to make the right decisions as we head out on our own into the college life. But sometimes it's necessary to indulge in some guilty pleasures as well as just doing things because you can. And honestly, a lot of the time it's inevitable. College is no piece of cake that's for sure, so it's okay to do some things you deep down know you shouldn't....once in a while anyways.

A Deep Dive Into Taylor Swift’s Albums: 1989 (Taylor’s Version) Edition

I just know that the idea of releasing vault tracks came out of the moment Taylor remembered she wrote 'Is It Over Now?'

A Deep Dive Into Taylor Swift’s Albums: 1989 (Taylor’s Version) Edition
Edited by Hailey Hastings

I am fully emersed into diving deep into every single Taylor Swift album, which I do on my own all the time, but wanted to do it in a way where I am sharing what a special discography she has. I feel like 1989 is the perfect place to start, it's an era that changed everything, and will always be an album people automatically think of when you say "Taylor Swift."
