New Year, Better Me

So long 2016, I've welcomed 2017 with open arms!

New Year, Better Me

Let me hop onto the New Years Resolution bandwagon, and then hitch that bandwagon to the "New year, new me" bandwagon, and then I'll hook that one onto the "I'm going to be healthy this year" bandwagon, because thats exactly what I'm doing.

I just want to be... better. Better attitude (okay yeah I'll probably still be a sarcastic, cat-loving asshole but that's not the point), better health choices, better stress management, better everything!

Okay, first thing first. The most important thing I want to better about myself in 2017 is my health. And yes, part of it is the cliche "I'm going to lose a bunch of weight" resolution, but it's also my overall health. I am that friend of yours who is ALWAYS (and I mean always) sick. I always have a stuffy nose, am coughing up a lung, or am just casually dying of some unidentifiable virus that no doctor actually knows how to help (this actually just happened to me, I'm not overreacting). I'm going to invest in a multivitamin and start taking that religiously. And on top of that I am going to start living a healthier lifestyle in terms of my relationship with food and exercise.

My attitude is usually fine, so I guess it's more focused on my attitude when I'm not fine, and how I process being upset. I don't want to keep my emotions pent up, so this year I am going to do my best to speak my mind (in the most polite way possible) whenever I am upset, so I don't have these negative feelings coursing through me. This also goes into my stress management issue, because as a college student I am stresssssssed. Less procrastinating, and I will make sure I find some time to unwind and take a load of.

This year is about me. Healthy body. Healthy mind. Healthy me.

So long 2016, I've welcomed 2017 with open arms!

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
