A New View of the Inconsistent you
“Yes, I am that girl who over-thinks all of the time, the girl that will do whatever for a friend at the drop of a dime. I replay new songs until they are old, though never playing that “typical girl” role. I think about the past more than the future, reminiscing and laughing on the things I did that were stupid. I have a strong belief in simplicity, but far from it. I change quite frequently. As soon as something sinks in me it’s released from me. I appreciate short conversations in the day and cherish long ones in the evenings, depending on who’s speaking. I create new theories every week then forget them in the next three. Not easy for keeping, but this is me inconsistently…”
To all my fellow people who work out for a week and a half then call it quits, like strawberries today but hate them tomorrow, and who can never actually finish a whole book. This, my friend is for you.
In the eyes of others you may be considered “inconsistent” but let’s take a stroll down a different pathway and look at it from another stand point.
Inconsistency is mostly paired with negative views but let’s pull out these positives from the roots and bring them to the light.
From the good old faithful dictionary.com the word inconsistent is synonymous to unpredictable, but you know what else is similar to unpredictable? Spontaneous! And guess what is a synonym for spontaneous? Free!
Inconsistent was also associated with the word eccentric on dictionary.com which means deviating from the recognized customary character or practice. The online dictionary and I are here to let you know that being inconsistently you and different from what is considered as “the norm” is okay. It’s okay to like something one day and another the next. It’s okay to change your mind.
I’ve come to the conclusion that people love labels and labeling others, so whenever someone labels you as inconsistent just be alright with that because you are spontaneous, free, and eccentric!
