Well Santa is visiting earlier this year.
New track is posted yesterday on SounCloud account user18081971. Massive atmospheric tune, with lovely deep and trippy moments, as we are used to getting from Aphex. Enjoy.
For those who are not introduced with his work, here is a few interesting facts:
Aphex Twin, aka Richard D. James began his career in the mid 80's. While it was initially speculated that Tom Middleton (who co-produced early Aphex track En Trance To Exit under the name Schizophrenia) was the “twin” in Aphex Twin, the moniker allegedly has a more personal - and devastating - origin. James has maintained that his brother, three years older and also named Richard, was stillborn.
Year 1991, Aphex formed Rephlex Records releasing three Analogue Bubblebath EPs under the AFX name.
1993, where he released a slew of albums and EPs on Warp Records and other labels under many aliases, such as Caustic Window and Polygon Window.
His first album "Selected Ambient Works 85-92" was an ambient affair, released in 1992 on R&S records.
In 1995 he began composing on computers, embracing a more drum n bass sound mixed with acid lines. His best works really begin with the album Classics and Selected Ambient Works 85-92 (aka Vol. 1), with one of his most well known jungle style dance tracks "Digeridoo" (track 1 on Classics).
There is also "ON" EP released on November 1993, "Selected Ambient Works Vol.2" released next year for Warp, in 95 "I Care Because You Do" and the EPs, "Ventolin" and "Donkey Rhubarb" and as AFX two "Hangable Auto Bulb" EPs.
These were followed the next year by "Richard D. James Album" on which his usual combination of caustic noises and forlorn textures were set beside more varied rhythms than usual, showing the influence of drum ‘n’ bass. The "Come To Daddy" and "Window licker" EPs moved further into this genre, and were accompanied by controversial and genuinely disquieting videos directed by Chris Cunningham.
James also recorded the score to Cunningham’s short film, Flex, before breaking a long album silence in 2001 with the double set, Drukqs. Other names under which he has released material include Caustic Window, GAK, Blue Calx, PCP, Analord, and AFX.
There are many more from Aphex, so fell free and explore.
ps: I almost forgot to tell you he owns a tank.
