The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration discovered a new species of jellyfish at the end of April 2016. The reason why this is so spectacular is because it looks like no other sea creature we have seen before. Going 3,700 meters down the Marinara Trench, this jellyfish was found with some short and some long stretched out tentacles. So here it is, the mysterious new jellyfish.
As you can see, the jellyfish seems to look as though it is not real- maybe as though someone drew it with a very vibrant colored pen. The pictures and videos were captured with a high definition camera so that we can fully see the colors and the structure of its body. The jellyfish did not move very much like the other species of jellyfish; they seem to spend most of their lives just drifting around the ocean. Now that's the life, isn't it?
The Mariana Trench is 11 kilometers deep but has only been explored 3.5 kilometers down. This being said, since we found this creature in such a short depth, who knows what we may find when we explore a little deeper.
