New month, new music! As August fades away and our summer jams get old, it is time for a re-vamping of our daily music lists. This past week, I found three new albums that are really amazing. Ingrid Michaelson's "It Doesn't Have To Make Sense", Carly Rae Jepsen's "EMOTION: Side B", and Rosie Tucker's "Lowlight". These three albums are very different from one another, but I can't stop listening to them!
1. Ingrid Michaelson- "It Doesn't Have To Make Sense"
While Ingrid Michaelson is not new to the music scene in the least, and nor is my love of her, I stumbled upon her album while perusing the iTunes store and was instantly reminded that I should listen to her more often. "It Doesn't Have To Make Sense" is another beautifully crafted, wonderfully mastered expression of Michaelson's talent. Starting off with "Light Me Up", you can tell this whole record is going to be absolutely killer. There is a great combination of slow and fast tempo songs, all with stunning lyrics and a musicality that will take you on an adventure through each song.

Drink You Gone
Old Days
2. Carly Rae Jepsen "EMOTION: Side B"
Pop-princess Carly Rae Jepsen (who you may know from her "Call Me Maybe" fame) knocks it out of the park again with "EMOTION: Side B", which seems like a continuation of her previous album "EMOTION" (which you need to listen to ASAP if you haven't). Sugary-sweet pop hits with sprinklings of slower and meaningful songs is what this album is made of, and it reminds me of fun pop songs that I used to love. This whole album is filled with killer hits and a tracklist that could easily be used by DJs at clubs. Carly Rae Jepsen: not one to write off.

3. Rosie Tucker "Lowlight"
Rosie Tucker, a young new artist from Los Angeles, graces our ears with her first album "Lowlight" and I am OBSESSED. I've listened to it on repeat for days (it is available on Spotify and iTunes) and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon. Her alternative folksy-style sound is much different than many artists I've heard and the craftful way she writes lyrics and pieces them together is so hauntingly beautiful. I am so impressed by the clarity of her voice in every song, nothing is too over-produced. Hearing an artists' raw voice is something that isn't heard on the daily radio, and Tucker's "Lowlight" offers a wonderful opportunity to hear that. As you listen, pay extra close attention to her lyrical genius. These songs are emotion-filled and her ability to take you in her experiences is more than any listener could ask for.

Beautiful Machine
I hope you enjoyed my artist spotlight for the month of September! Happy listening!
