New Hot Spot in Lexington!

New Hot Spot in Lexington!

For those of you who live near The Wyatt, 525/524 and the Townhomes at Newtown Crossing, have I got news for you! Not too long ago a nondenominational church opened up a community space for everyone to enjoy!

480 is known to be a community space and cafe near the University of Kentucky that provides a venue for events, recreation, quiet study, and friendly interaction. Their mission is to provide a space for members of the community and students of UK to study, interact, network, and enjoy events. They have events such as:

Zumba

and Tailgating for UK Games and soon much more.
Every tailgating event comes with amazing people and FREE food!

If you haven't checked it out yet, you should. 480 offers a unique experience, whether you're sitting at the wood slab bar of the café, scaling the 17' climbing wall, using the free high-speed Internet to study, or just hanging out with your friends in the lounge. You could also catch one of the games on one of our big screens or take part in the many of events that 480 has to offer.

There's something for everyone!

Drop in, grab a coffee, and relax at the bar or on a couch in the lounge. Or if you feel like breaking a sweat, hop on the rock wall, bust a move in a Zumba class, or participate in another rigorous exercise endeavor.

They are open from 4-10pm every day for anyone to come hang out. They also have church services on Sunday mornings at 11am that begin with contemporary worship and follow up with a message, which lasts until just after 12pm.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
