I'm Ready To Start A New Chapter Of My Life

It is a phrase often preached in the face of hard times in multiple ways in multiple phrases. "This too shall pass" "Everything will be fine" "It'll be OK" there are different ways that this will manifest.

One question, what happens when you're OK? When you're OK and everything is slowly turning back to normal?

You're finding balance after learning lessons. You're now different than you were before and the next chapter is about to begin.

The storm has settled more than 5 months ago, but now is the time that everything feels normal. It seems that I have been waiting for all the water to dry up and this awkward metaphorical weather to change.

This storm was probably one of the biggest downpours I've ever had in my life. Everything felt like a dead end. I felt like I was walking up the stairs and halfway up I'd come crashing down and break bones.

The storm was rough, a lot of the time I sat where I was watching as the wind blew over trees and caused a lot of damage.

But then, the weirdest thing happened. School started up again. I started making some new and cool friends. I started falling in love with my classes and the people in them. I've been making midnight runs for French fries and big old bags of gummy worms. I started feeling much better. Things started to pick up and I started feeling like I had a heartbeat.

It takes a while to gather your bearings when the storm blows over. But then comes the calm, then comes the moment where everything is OK and you go on day to day.

Another storm is going to roll in, life is going to keep throwing a lot of things that I don't think I can handle. I'll handle them anyway. I'll wait for the mess to fade away and for a new chapter to begin.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
