4 Thoughts I Had When The New Bachelor Was Announced

I couldn't decide if I loved or hated this announcement.

We met Colton Underwood in Becca Kufrin's season of "The Bachelorette." A large part of the series was focused on the innocence of Colton. Walking into a rose ceremony that could've brought him a fantasy suite, he pulled aside Chris Harrison to discuss whether or not he was expected to do anything that night. Sadly, Colton was sent home at that rose ceremony and got to keep his "innocence!"

We soon got to see a new side of Colton as we entered Sayulita, Mexico for "Bachelor in Paradise." They showcased him as somewhat of a bad guy, taking way too long to give Tia a straight answer regarding their relationship. A couple episodes later, Colton finally asks Tia out, and they make it official. And soon after, all that goes away! Now Colton is going to be the Bachelor, and I think Bachelor Nation has a lot of mixed emotions!

1. Why not Blake?!

Watch and cry with me as we reminisce on how perfect Blake was. He was perfect for Becca, and after being rejected he was perfect for the next Bachelor!

2. Tia???

Tia and Colton's end on "The Bachelor In Paradise" was a little confusing. Did he still have feelings? Is he completely heartless? Bachelor Nation fell in love with their relationship during the paradise season, how are we supposed to be open to him in new relationships now?!

3. Are you sure he's ready?

Throughout the entire "Bachelor In Paradise" season, Colton struggled with moving on from Becca and being able to start a new relationship with Tia. If he left the show because he wasn't ready for Tia, how will he be ready for the eager cast of girls on the new season?

4. I guess it isn't the end of the world.

Colton is undeniably cute, and, as we saw from his hometown date, he is an incredibly kind and caring person dedicated to serving others. Maybe he wasn't Bachelor Nation's first choice, but it's not all bad!

Although my initial reactions were a little rough, I finally eased into the idea of Colton being the next Bachelor. There is drama in every choice made for the show, so I can't wait to see how the new season unfolds in 2019!

Friendship. It's defined as the state of being attached to another person by feelings of affection or personal regard, but what really is friendship? Is it that occasional hallway talk with that one person who always manages to cheer you up? Is it that relationship you have with someone where they can be gone for a long period of time, but when they come back, it's like they never left? Is it spending every waking hour with someone, and knowing every detail about their life? Is it the relationship that's filled with fighting, but filled with even more resolution? I've learned that it's all of these things, and every friendship is different. It's a beautifully dysfunctional mess that should always be cherished and never be taken for granted.
