We all made some sort of New Year’s goal. We have tried to challenge ourselves to becoming a better version of ourselves. We looked at the coming year of 2018 and thought “New Year, New me.” But, how are those goals going?

We are about a month and a half into the new year. No doubt many of us have already abandoned our New Year’s goals. There may be a few of us who are still holding on. We may have slipped up from time-to-time, but just because its mid-February doesn’t mean it’s too late.

It’s time to assess our goals and figure out where we are heading.

For the few of us who are still actively pursuing and doing our 2018 goals, great job! You should be proud! But, there is still room for assessment. Did you make your challenge too easy? Are there ways you can tweak and amp up your goal? We should know that there is always room for improvement.

Or maybe, you are rocking your challenge and feel like you’ve really mastered it. That’s awesome, but did you know New Years isn’t the only time you can make new goals? We are always working on ourselves and finding new ways to challenge ourselves, so take this opportunity to create a new goal for yourself. Maybe it adds to your previous goal, or maybe its something entirely different you’d like to work on.

But, for those of us who have already given up on our goal, or perhaps even forgotten what it was, don’t give up! There is still time to accomplish your goals for 2018. Don’t lose hope. It’s just time to approach your goal from a different angle.

Let’s say you had some major goal of exercising an hour a day. But, you’ve found it difficult to carve that hour out of your time. Maybe you did for a few days or weeks, but as you slowly got busier it seemed to slip through the cracks. That’s okay! We will all face the low points of our goals where not much progress is being made, but we can still pick it back up.

Turn your goal into something that seems a little more tangible. Lessen your goal of workout time. Make it 30 or 15 minutes a day and go from there. After you’ve mastered the smaller amount, you can build up from there. If you created a huge goal for yourself and can’t seem to manage it quite yet, tweak it to fit your specific needs.

It is perfectly fine to change your goals if necessary. At the beginning of the year we were all hopped up on the spirit of a New Year, and that caused us to set unrealistic standards of what we could accomplish at a time. If we are struggling with our goals, we need to be aware of whether we are asking too much of ourselves and then work from there. You must be kind to yourself and conscious of your capabilities.

Just because you change your goal a little bit doesn’t mean you’ve given up. It only means that you’ve decided to work on your goal a little differently then you originally thought. Break it up and conquer one step at a time. It will make reaching your goal much easier and you’ll enjoy yourself more as you go along.

Just because it’s mid-February does not mean it is too late to reach your 2018 goals and have a wonderful year. Keep persevering and never give up! It’s never too late to reach for a goal.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
