Never live with your friends; it will ruin the relationship. This was pounded into my head when I was on my way to college. Every story I ever heard of people living with their friends have ended poorly. Even the best of friends became enemies. And yet, some friends are only friends because they were roommates. Of course in the book of life, there are always exceptions to the rules. Lucky for me and my best friend, we were the exception. Living with my best friend was the greatest thing I could have done. I wish that we still lived together! There are so many reasons why living with my best friend was a great decision.

1. I never had to call her up to see if I could come over or vice versa. She was always just right there.

2. We got to do everything together. For the most part we had the same class schedule, then working out, and cooking dinners together. Every night was a “Date Night,” for us!

3. We played video games ALL the time! There was never a question when one of us sat down and grabbed a controller; it was game time.

4. She was always just a call away. I could just open my door and she was right there, listening to my late night venting as we laid in bed and stalked people on Facebook.

5. It was always comforting to know she was there, even if we were in our own rooms doing our own thing.

6. We learned to live with each other, through the good and bad, although we are pretty much the same person.

There is nothing better than living with your best friend, or for me anyways. I am so lucky to have lived with someone who was like a sister to me. So don’t always listen to the mainstream gossip that living with your bestie will be your biggest mistake. Take it from me when I say that living with my best friend was the greatest time in my life. Thank you Towe! I love and miss you like crazy!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
