Never give up on yourself, your dreams.

Don't Give Up On Your Dreams

Flashback. We are all little children and we had big dreams. We wanted to be so many things. For me it was a singer, actress, a vet, and a dentist. Each one was a phase and I loved every minute of them. What were your dreams? Think about them.

At the age of 19 going on 20, I have an idea of what I want to do for the rest of my life, and that is becoming a psychologist. My dreams are to be successful and have a beautiful family, live on Long Island, and raise my children as close to their family as I am to mine.

At the age of four I had big dreams. I wanted to be anything and everything. What happened to those dreams? Well I grew up and I learned to be more realistic, which I guess is a good thing but I am not 100 percent certain.

Looking back at my childhood, I regret not pursuing my passion for singing. I can't help but wonder every time I go to a Broadway show that maybe it could have been my name in that playbill, me singing to thousands of people. At the age of 19, I learned.

I learned to never give up on your dreams. I learned that my future looks bright if I work hard and keep up what I am doing now. School is hard, the work is hard, and classes are boring. You need to take the fluff before you can really get down to business. But in the end it will work out, right? Stress is a common thing in college students nowadays. We work hard and we keep working to the point where it seems like it never stops. You want a semester break? Well good luck with that because it comes down to having internships and working, or even both. But you also want to see all of your friends who go to different schools.

The time we put in now pays off. Look at the people who are successful because they worked hard like we are doing now. Maybe you want to be a doctor, look at your own doctor and realize that they had to do the same exact stuff that you did now.

I wish little me realized that the singing lessons would have been great, even if they were super boring. It could have lead to something great and I could have been something. Now I am not saying I won't be something because maybe I will be. Maybe I will come up with theories and become a well known psychologist but that's besides the point.

You don't have to be famous to become something. You just have to do what you love and pursue your dreams. You do not have to agree with me but you definitely can become something. You can be the best you that you could be. Just never give up, don't just drop everything for a boy or because you don't think you are worth it. You are.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
