Sometimes all you want to do after a long day at work or class is curl up in bed and laugh for an hour or so. These comedies are perfect for a low-key afternoon or for marathon watching late at night.

1. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine"

This FOX show is the perfect cross between a crime show and a workplace comedy. Michael Schur's brilliant ensemble comedy provides the audience with a fit of laughter every episode. Andy Samberg, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, and the entire rest of the cast give standout comedic performances that will make you cry laughing every week.

2. "The Mindy Project"

This program may have ended as a Hulu Original now, but it started out on FOX. Mindy Kaling provides us with her brilliant comedy time and time again. Kaling describes her character as a woman of color that looks at the world with all of the privilege of a white man, and it works so well. This show did just come to an end after six great years, but you can still watch it all on Hulu.

3. "The Goldbergs"

The brilliant comedic mind of Adam F. Goldberg brings us this hilarious family comedy on ABC about his own life growing up. Thi show is especially great if you're feeling nostalgic because it's filled with 80s throwbacks and nerdy references. Wendi McLendon-Covey leads the show brilliantly and never fails to make me laugh.

4. "The Good Place"

Michael Schur blessed us again with "The Good Place" another hilarious ensemble comedy, this time about life after death. Kristen Bell and Ted Danson shine on this NBC program and help make the show that much better.

5. "Great News"

From the mind of Tracey Wigfield comes this hilarious workplace comedy that focuses on a strong mother-daughter relationship and its wholly entertaining dynamics. Also, Nicole Richie is hysterical in it. You can catch new episodes weekly on NBC.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
