Dear Netflix, Can You Upload New Content Faster Please?

My sanity and love for television declines everyday you take longer to upload.

Dear Netflix,

As I loyal Netflix user, I can safely say that I love it. Netflix is a great way to watch television and it is always there and ready for anyone to use. I love the portability. I love the quality. I just love everything. However, just like everything else in the world today, nothing can be too good, so everything has its flaws. You number one flaw: uploading. Netflix, I hate to break it to you, but you upload your content way too slowly.

Look, I get sometimes it may take longer than usual because there are probably some legal tracks you have to follow. For a little while, you were a bit faster about it. However, lately, it has been as if you only care about uploading the "Netflix Original Series" shows. That can not be the only thing you upload because some of them are not even appropriate for the younger audience.

People pay for the Netflix service because they want to watch the shows they missed on television, or they want to rewatch some series they loved on television. Plus it used to be cheaper than the alternatives present. I know that is why my parents got it. For example, shows like "Friends" and "How I Met Your Mother" were definite favorites, especially in my house.

When I first got you, I was amazed by the plethora of options you had for every emotion I could possibly feel plus more. When I want something action packed, you had that, just like when I want something funny, you had that. You were always there no matter what.

Yet, somehow when it comes to uploading the new seasons for these shows, you are slacking. Take for example, "Criminal Minds," in the television world, they are on season 14 now, but in the Netflix world, you are still on season 12. I mean I get it they are still making season 14, but you could have season 13 up, at least.

So Netflix, I hate to tell you, but people are going to quit subscribing if you keep up these actions. Promising people fast uploading and great quality, you actually only do one of those things. You need to have your game day helmet on all the time because with the world changing this fast, who knows Amazon Prime, Hulu or even Roku could be the move from Netflix.

I only say all this because Netflix used to be where everyone used to go, you were the cool kid if you had it but now among those other sites. People also go and pirate these for lower quality. In the end, they are happy that they got to at least see it and did not have to wait for 10 centuries. Get your game together, Netflix.

Sincerely,

A Netflix Loyal Customer

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
