To be fair, this is actually my list that I thought I'd share with you. All in all, these original series and outdated shows have some of the most dynamic story lines, influential characters, and major plot twists. That's what a good show is all about and how it moves us to understand the way people change and grow throughout each series. Let's take a look at some of the shows that will have you off the edge of your seat.

Black Mirror

Look into the stories that make you think in a more receptive way. Each episode is emotional, psychological, and immensely sci-fi that relate to the way you see your life and the society in which you live in. It's a genius and well thought-out show and the creators have never failed to impress with each season they put out.

Stranger Things

Have you ever watched the Goonies? Super 8? Well things just got a whole lot better thanks to this Netflix original series. It's a fantastic segment of characters that all play a role to discovering the secrets of a parallel universe, aliens, and much more.

Narcos

Pablo Escobar, no this is not a documentary but an incredible story to the life of Escobar and his cartel. As well as the country of Colombia and the United States chase to capturing this drug lord. The show creates attachments to all characters and creates the feel to what life was like in Colombia during this time.

The Time in Between

If you don't do subtitles then this is not the show for you. But please give it a shot. Taken from the beautifully written novel by María Dueñas, it is set during World War II in Madrid where a young seamstress takes part to uncover the secrets of the Nazis by becoming a spy for the Americans.

House of Cards

Wait - its not all about the corruption in politics, it's more than that. Think of it like a history lesson meets Macbeth. One of the most iconic and addicting shows, you may hate the theme but may never stop watching.

Sword Art Online

Who doesn't love watching a little anime now and then? Stuck in a virtual reality game with hundreds of other users trying to make it to up to the 100th level, just to log out. Oh, and if they die in the game, they die in real life. The main character will be your ever favorite with a great sense of justice and bravery. And every character has a reason for doing the things that they do.

Sherlock

Benedict Cumberbatch. Do I have to say more? Holmes and Watson are the ultimate squad goals. The cases will leave you speechless with how perceptive and intuitive the duo solves them. Too much law and order will tell you this show is a must see.

Jane the Virgin

The show was originally an old Venezuelan telenovela and now directors Deutch, Siberling and Briesewitz made it not only a serious drama but a comedic hit. Characters are always changing, drama is always intense, and you get your daily dose of spanish. I highly recommend this show for people that want something different than an average nuclear family.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
