" Grey's Anatomy," "Orange is the New Black," "House of Cards," "Parks and Recreation," "The Office," "Bones," "House," "Friends," "American Dad," "Vampire Diaries," "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," "Dexter," "Family Guy," "How I Met Your Mother," "Lost," "Shameless," "Black Mirror," "Peaky Blinders," "Bloodline," "Mad Men," "Breaking Bad" - what do all of these words have in common? Odds are, if you are a Netflix user, you've completed a couple of these series at least once. At first, this might not seem like a huge deal, but once you look into it, you might reconsider sitting down to binge-watch a series. TIME says that the average Netflix user streamed 568 hours of episodes during 2015. As of January 1st of 2017, Netflix has 93.8 million subscribers, 47 million of which are American. Studies show that 70% of Netflix users binge-watch shows, and Business Insider suggests that the average user streams 2 hours of Netflix a day. What does all of this mean?

Netflix is killing our time - time that could be spent with friends, time that could be spent with family, time that could be spent outside, reading, doing homework, talking on the phone, working out, or working at a job. The typical Netflix user has completed at least a few series on Netflix, so here's how that breaks down (number of episodes found through Google, average episode length found here ). Here are 47 of the most popular shows on Netflix, based off of Business Insider, Uproxx, Paste Magazine, Collider, and personal inferences, listed underneath. The first column is the series name; the second is the number of episodes; the third, average length; the fourth, number of minutes spent watching the series; the fifth, total number of hours that breaks down to; the sixth, number of 24-hour days that comes down to, and the seventh column shows how many days one would spend if they watched 12 hours of Netflix a day.

Yes, Netflix is great for lazy day binge sessions and late night episodes, but is it great enough to give months of our lives away to it? You decide.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
