Many people use Netflix to binge watch television shows that they want to watch the series, or missed a season or what not. A lot of people don't know about the hidden treasures that could be found within Netflix, like the array of Netflix originals besides Orange is the New Black, and all the independent films that are on this amazing website. Here are a list of the top 10 independent films that you can find on Netflix. (Note: these films are not listed in any specific rank).

10. The Looking Glass

This movie deserves more recognition than it is has ever gotten. The relationship portrayed between family is one that everyone can relate too. Many can also relate to the coming- of- age aspects this movie portrays and hits right on the head of the nail. Definitely a must see.

9. Silver Linings Playbook

This movie starts out a little slow, but it tackles such a deep subject that many people don't ever think to film about. Mental illness is portrayed perfectly in this movie with the ways in which people think, handle their emotions, and then react to those emotions. It is a must watch,

8. Take Me Home

Throughout the film you tend to hate yet also love both of the main characters. Everything about them is irritating but also oddly charming. This film doesn't follow the basic "road trip" track and there is never a big scene of love proclamation but it portrays the emotions the characters feel really well so that there doesn't need to be words.

7. Waiting For Forever

This film is pretty slow but it is also one of those films in which you have to watch the whole time. Any kind of distraction will just make you miss something and then you won't be able to fully understand why what happens actually does.

6. My Last Day Without You

For anyone who thinks that love stories are corny, well this might be the corniest of them all. But it is a very good story regardless of the sappiness.

5. Keith

This movie is one that will bring you across an emotional field from anger and disgust to pulling at your heartstrings. The amount of curveballs in this movie just prove that you should have a box of tissues right next to you throughout this whole production.

4. Before We Go

You will be so angry at this movie for most of the time while watching it, especially at the end. When watching this movie you think it is just another one of those love stories that obviously has a happy ending, but don't let that fool you. Think rationally.

3. Colonia

Besides the fact that Emma Watson plays a badass who would do anything for her lover, this nothing but true film puts your head and heart in intense situations that leaves you wondering how far you would go for love.

2. My All- American

This film has a Friday Night Lights feel to it. You seem to question how Freddie can have everything and then it hits you and your emotions run wild. If you have a love for football then this movie is one you have to watch, just be prepared with tissues.

1. Stuck In Love

I may be biased because this is my ALL TIME FAVORITE MOVIE, but I believe that EVERYONE should watch this gem. Literally, this movie is a perfect fuse of sarcasm, comedy, love and drama. It is so accurate to life in every stage. I cannot rave enough about this movie.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
