When thinking of summer, I finally think of all the time I get to enjoy myself—that includes dedicating some good ol' time to Netflix. School always takes up time and a lot of my energy, so summer is really a great time for me to be able to rejuvenate. While thinking of the summer I have a few shows that I constantly go back to and constantly recommend to people. All of these shows you may know but whether you are needing a push to re-watch them or need the reassurance to watch them for the very first time this will hopefully convince you that these shows are worth every minute. Some of them are old, some of them are still airing on TV, some are short and others are long; but all of them will definitely fill that Netflix binge space or some relaxing late nights. The following shows are my recommendations for some great rejuvenating show catch up.

1. The Office

This show is one of the shows that I can laugh at every single time I watch it. It is perfect with its very full and consistently hilarious nine seasons; the perfect amount to be able to get sucked in and for you to have a show. The characters have spunk and continually make you uncomfortable. It does take a certain sense of humor but this is a must-see for every single person. I am biased, but truly lots of jokes come from this show and being able to see it first-hand just makes them that much better.

2. Parks and Recreation

All I have to say is Leslie Knope + Ron Swanson = great hilarity and stomach pains. This show is right next to shows that make me laugh every time. Another comedic show that has all seven seasons on Netflix. There was small hiatus after the sixth season but that just gave them enough time to pull in a great farewell season. All the different personalities and story lines help you keep showing up every night for some new great comic stuff. Not to mention that the two main and favorite characters are Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman.

3. How I Met Your Mother

I know I love the comedies but let’s be real, when life gets rough sometimes you just need to take a break with some real laughs. Also this show is so real, I mean my relationship goals comes from Marshall and Lilly. Through nine seasons you find yourself getting dedicated to each and every character, hoping that each get their dream—you obviously have to watch to find out. This show is another great long show that you will find will bring great laughs and maybe even some large tears.

4. Grey's Anatomy

This is the most popular show on Netflix—at least in my mind because everyone is talking about it. I used to watch it every week when it was on TV and it got me roped in every week. Now that it's on Netflix it is perfect for some great nights of binging. There are many characters and some really crazy plot twists that keep you forever reeled in. Along with that there are 12 seasons, so this show actually may not ever have to end for you since it is still airing on TV. This show is basically an American Telenovela to be real, so why not give it chance since you have so much time over summer?

5. Breaking Bad

This one is on the darker side for those who do not enjoy any of those adjectives. But this show did some amazing things for my critique of TV shows. Breaking Bad has been a whole new level for what I find that I love in a TV show—suspense, fear, intense draw and learning. This does have some serious comedy but with that is some really serious and dark things right alongside. There are some warnings with this show but some great things to take from it as well.

6. Friends

Come on, this 90s sitcom has already been watched by most of the world by now but let’s be real, re-watching this show never gets old. Especially since it is new on Netflix it will be a consistent re-watch. I really feel this show does not need to be explained, it just is on the list for a good reason.

7. Dexter

This is another dark one but it is again a great TV show that, if you are up for it, needs to be watched. This show has some murder and some crazy crime investigation that will keep you pressing next episode over and over again, especially because there are eight full seasons of crazy. You will not be disappointed by the growth of characters and the crazy criminals that will keep you forever thinking about when you will get to sit down with Dexter once again.

8. New Girl

I have a certain bias towards this great show because I personally feel that I am Jess. I will forever be changed by finding characters that I can so easily relate to. The characters are ridiculously hilarious and amazing people that keep me watching new episodes and re-watching the old ones. This show will keep you laughing and keep you happy to be young and ready to make things happen just like in this show.

9. Jane the Virgin

Last but not least, this show was a random find and is definitely the shortest of my Netflix summer shows with only two seasons. But trust me, just watching them was a great highlight to my binge watching. This show honestly is wholesome and amazing. Jane is a writer so obviously I am biased (again oops) towards her passion but that is not the only thing that makes this show great. It has a normal sitcom set up but with a special twist of it having a slight play on a typical Spanish Telenovela. It makes the perfect situation show with some extra plot twists that make you gasp and press next every time.

Each of these are obviously based off of some personal preference but stayed on this list because of recommendations that people keep making. Summer is definitely made for fun activities outside of the home, but at the end of the day some great Netflix binging is what really makes for the perfect summer plans.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
