Obviously.

Right? Then why do we do it so much?

In a world where we are constantly told to do things that we may not want to do, complaining is inevitable. We are often exposed to situations that leave us with stress and pressure on our minds. But to then make these problems known to the world by voicing them out loud in conversation (or posting them on a "Finstagram" account) you're not doing any good for anyone.

All you're doing is spreading negative energy around and people like to be surrounded by positive people!!! So stop, please stop. Negative thinking is the least progressive thing ever and it does you no good!

Think about it. Suppose you're in class and you hate the teacher so much so that all you do is complain about him/her to those around you. You will still have to take the class. You will still have to go see this teacher. All that you're doing is making the situation more unbearable for yourself and those around you!!

Seriously, what is complaining going to do? Even if your complaints are justified, it does you no good. Nothing good can come of it. I think people complain because it gives them a sense of reassurance when things are annoying them.

Or, imagine you're on a plane ride and you're really worried that the plane is going to crash. You start to think negatively as the plane takes off about the fear of crashing. You're really scared now and work yourself into a state of hysteria and yet, you still have a long flight ahead of you.

So why? Why do you keep thinking about crashing? What is the point of all of this negative thinking? All that you're doing is making the experience worse for yourself. And, God forbid, imagine that the plane was to crash... What would your negative thinking do to stop that? Nothing.

NEGATIVE THINKING MAKES SITUATIONS WAY WORSE FOR YOU.

Try to be positive at any chance you get! Life will be a lot better that way and those around you will be more attracted to your presence because your personality will be more admirable.

And, if you do have negative thoughts, don't share them! Voicing negative thoughts out loud leads to a spread of negative energy. Obviously, this is easier said than done... but work on it!

I'm no doctor and I wish that I knew the remedy to negative thinking, but here's what I think. I believe that stepping back and taking deep breathes in the middle of unfavorable scenarios can help, and that practicing mindfulness is also another way to change the way you think.

The mind is a powerful thing. I can assure you that the more you think positively, the happier you will be. And, in turn, that positivity will spread and the world will be a happier place!

Please just try to be happy and spread that happiness. Life should be lived! Think with a 'glass half full' mentality and never fail to count your blessings. Nothing in this life is for granted. Thank you for reading. Until next time.

Be Happy :)

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
