A Negative Mind Will Never Get You A Positive Life

Instead of focusing on what you don't want, channel your energy on what you want the most. Forget the rest.

We are human beings, and we are not perfect. But we have to accept responsibility for our behavior. We need to accept the fact that complaining about something will not change it, nor will it make things better. In fact, sometimes, it makes the situation we are complaining about even worse. I am, by no means, saying that I don't complain because I have done my fair share of complaining and probably will do it again. The point I am trying to make is that we need to take a look at the things we say and do and correct ourselves where we fall short. That's how you get progress. Complaining and talking about the things we don't want only create more negative feelings and outcomes. I have learned that truth firsthand on multiple occasions.

I challenge you to try to get yourself to where you are no longer complaining. Instead of talking about what you don't want, try talking about the things you do want. It's much more productive and encouraging. Recently, I read a life-changing book called "Think And Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. He talks about how to acquire money, but it goes a lot deeper than that. When we have faith and believe that good things are going to happen to us, they will happen. We have to practice this day in and day out to get what we most desire out of life. Napoleon Hill made me realize that I can do anything I want to if I commit to it and believe I can achieve it. We have to train our minds to see the positive and kick the negativity out. The law of attraction is proof that our thoughts can lead us to our deepest desires. Once you train your mind to focus on the things you want most, trusting that God will give you all that you ask for, your life will become so much easier.

In Hill's book, he states, "Desire backed by faith knows no such word as impossible." If you believe you can acquire what you want, you will get it. Once you believe it, you are ready to receive it. Figure out what it is that you want and go get it. No one ever said it was going to be easy, but having faith in God and believing you are capable WILL get you where you want to be.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
