Hello!

I know what you’re feeling right now. Your Thanksgiving Break was incredibly relaxing but definitely not long enough. You’re feeling stressed about the three papers and five tests that you have to complete before you return back home for the holidays, and right now it feels impossible. But guess what? You have already made it this far. You only have two and a half weeks until you’re done with this semester and on to the next one. I know these next 20 days are going to be horrible but you can power through. Here are just a few tips to make this last stretch of the semester bearable.

1. Go get good food

You’re going to be studying for hours on end and odds are your dining dollars are at an all time low. Get some brain food. I love using frozen veggies from the super market and an egg to spice up my ramen. There are cheap ways to eat off campus. Find your favorite meals and treat yourself. You deserve it with all of this studying.

2. Make a countdown calendar

It helps to see exactly how much time you have until you’re done with all of your exams and papers. By seeing your goal it makes them seem more reachable. You can easily do this in your planner or even on your dorm room white board.

3. Take breaks

If you can, get the hell off campus. Go for a walk or go to the mall with friends. Your brain needs a mental break sometimes.

4. SLEEP

Do not skip out on sleep just to cram for a test. Time management is key during finals and taking time out of your sleep schedule is not worth it. Being rested is just as important as studying.

5. Online Shop

Retail therapy is the best therapy. Take a break from studying to order your friends and family presents for the upcoming holidays. It’s fun and will give you warm fuzzies because you will be doing something for the ones you love.

6. Decorate your room

Spread that holiday positivity throughout your dorm room. Twinkle lights and tinsel are easy ways to feel the spirit.

7. Stock up on caffeine

Having your dorm loaded with tea and coffee is never a bad idea. When in a rush sometimes the campus cafe feels unreachable. Have your favorites accessible so that you can stay awake in that 9 AM.

By taking these few pieces of advice, I promise that you can make it. You only have twenty days to bring up that GPA. Let's do this thing!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
