We All Need A Pep Talk Once In A While

For the rough times.

We All Need A Pep Talk Once In A While
Sydney Jensen

It’s been a hard few days. There has been a lot of pain, not just felt in the States, but on a global level. The world is aching. I am aching.

But we have to get back up.

Now is the time for us to move.

We need a pep talk.

We are a generation of bright, young minds. I know a lot of the older generations have some negative things to say about us, but we are so powerful. According to The White House’s website, we are not only the largest generation, but we are the most diverse.

As far as making money goes, girls are the drive behind earnings. Who runs the world? GIRLS. Who is closing the wage gap? GIRLS.

Education wise, our generation has the most college degrees. Why? Because we value our brains and want to achieve great things. We will achieve great things.

This is not just about our generation, though; this is about everyone.

As people on this planet, we are capable of just about anything. Sometimes I think we forget all the things we can do. Yes, I’m looking at you.

You are worth so much more than you even know. Are you even aware of how hard you work? Do you understand what you bring to the table? I know it’s hard to look on the bright side when everything around you doesn’t seem to be working out, but I promise if you keep pushing, you will get there.

We have to keep our heads up if we want to get things done, and now is our time to get things done. There is art to be created, words to be written, and voices to be heard.

This is when we need to stick together and love harder than ever. Support each other, lift each other up.

As Kid President says, “I’m on your team; be on my team.”

“Pain is your body’s way of saying ‘I’m not okay now, but I will be soon.’” – Taylor Doose, "Gilmore Girls"
