We all know that we have to drink water to survive, but many of us aren't drinking enough. I know, it can be hard to drink enough water. Here are just a few incentives and ways to drink more water.
For me, something that encourages me to drink more water is using a water bottle that I love. My friend's and I all have a love affair with our hydroflasks (pictured above). Not only do reusable water bottles generally hold more water than an average plastic bottle, but they keep your water colder and they're better for the environment. Another fun way to stay hydrated is to decorate your water bottle. You can add some cool stickers, decorate with a sharpie, or leave it plain! But, my one request is that you please stop using plastic water bottles.
Odds are, your skin care idol drinks a lot of water. Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston (Marie Claire) and Beyonce (Vogue) swear that the key to good skin is hydration; keep your skin moisturized and drink enough water. I struggled with acne throughout high school and my first couple semesters of college and one of the most aggravating things to hear is "just drink more water." Drinking more water isn't what cured my cystic acne, but I believe that staying hydrated helped my skin focus on clearing itself up and not focus on being dry and dehydrated. Products will also just work and absorb better when you are hydrated.
My last suggestion to you is to listen to and be aware of your body. Many are mindful to stay hydrated in the summer because it is so hot out but forgot that in the winter, we need to stay just as hydrated. Dry, winter air paired with artificial heat may lead to dehydration in the winter months. Also, if you are working out a lot, you will have to drink a lot of water. This seems obvious, but don't let it slip your mind.
So, leave your plastic water bottles in 2017 and go out and get yourself a nice reusable water bottle. Rember, just because you aren't thirsty, doesn't mean that you are hydrated. Stay hydrated friends!
