Need An Excuse To Nap?

I pride myself on being such a good nap taker. I used to hate naps, until I got to college of course. In fact, I can find pretty much any excuse to squeeze in some kind of nap during the day. And if you can't do that, then this article is just for you.

1. I didn't sleep well last night, I NEED a nap

2. I didn't have coffee this morning, so a nap would basically do the same thing as a cup of coffee

3. I have work later, and I know it's going to be exhausting so I should nap just in case

4. I just got back from work, so I earned this nap

5. I have a huge assignment due by Thursday....but it's only Monday, so I have time for a nap

6. The weather sucks so I'm going to take a nap so that I don't have to look at it

7. I'm in a terrible mood and I don't have to deal with anyone or anything if I take a nap

8. I'm in such a great mood; I think I should celebrate with a nap!

9. I got an A on my exam; I totally earned a nap!

10. Oops, I failed my exam... I'm going to nap to forget about it...

11. I just ate a big meal and I need to nap or I'll get a stomach ache

12. I'm soooooo bored that I could take a nap

13. I just had a really great workout and now I'm exhausted....a nap would probably be beneficial

14. It's such a lovely day outside, I think I'm going to open my window and take a nap

15. I have so much to do, and not enough time to do it so I'm going to take a nap and give myself less time and take a nap

16. I heard that napping is good for the heart; I'm just trying to keep my heart healthy by taking this nap

17. I'm going out tonight and I need to be on my A game. Time for a pre-turn up nap.

18. If I don't nap right now, I'm going to be cranky later

19. I'm hungover....I need to nap for 5 years

20. I had to deal with someone that I didn't want to deal with today, so I'm going to nap and pretend it didn't happen

21. Because I can

22. I'm just trying to make up for all those naps that I didn't want to take when I was little and I have a lot to go

23. My Iphone is updating and is going to take forever. In fact, it probably won't even be done when I wake up.

24. Yay! It's the weekend, what a perfect time for me to nap!

25. I did everything I was supposed to do today, so I'm pretty sure I deserve a nap

See, it's not that hard to find an excuse. It only took me five minutes to come up with 25 of them. There are literally hundreds of other excuses to nap that could be made. However, if the next time you nap, and you can't find a valid excuse, you at least have this list to come look back on.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
