A wise man once said, "High school never ends." But what about middle school? For all of you who thought college was that much different than middle school, this list of tips from Ned Bigby, that still apply today, will make you rethink how far you've really come.

1. "Sit around nice people just in case it is your seat forever."

We all know syllabus week is when you get to class about 10 minutes early because the seats chosen on the first day are permanent, and anyone who messes with the formation gets shunned.

2. "Going across dance floors can be tough. So dance your way through!"

People are much more receptive to being shimmied past rather than being pushed, so keep that in the back of your mind while trying to navigate your way through parties.

3. "If you are sick don't wait, go to the nurse's office immediately."

Health services is full of homies with nursing degrees. As good as you are at diagnosing illnesses, they went to school for this and know more than you do from WebMD and eight seasons of "House".

4. "Make sure your bag is zipped."

You'll make sure all of your papers stay in your bag and you'll also eliminate the awkward feeling you give everyone you pass since no one knows if they should stop you and say something or if they should just let you keep going.

5. "Talk about problems with your friends."

Seeing as now you live next door to most of your friends, open communication is about 10 times more important.

6. "Online quick notes help you keep on track. Note: It is not a replacement for actual reading."

7. "Grades are important, but not the most important thing in life."

Seriously, at this point you gotta stop stressing about your damn GPA.

8. "The library isn't just for checking out books. You can also make friends in the library."

Nothing brings people together like a common enemy and lack of sleep (@finalsweek).

9. "Wear deodorant."

This one will never not be applicable. Well, unless you're allergic to deodorant but I hear baking soda does the trick!

10. "When you text and walk at the same time, make sure you look forward."

Light posts seem to pop up the second you look away from them, so, beware.

11. "Don't judge someone because of their clothes or face."

My face isn't the prettiest, but my mom says I'm pretty cool so give me a chance!

12. "Always have flash cards handy so you can make any time a study time."

Real talk: flash cards are easy to go through while you're on the elliptical, it saves major time.

13. "Make Monday fun-day."

It's never too early in the week to crack open a new bottle of wine!

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.
