With finals, we all have our vices. I have compiled a list of the things that help me get through exam week. This list is geared more towards girls, so, sorry guys! But, I still think this list can help everyone learn something about how to cope with, what I like to call, The Final Countdown.
1. Leggings
These are must for comfort for long nights spent in the library, studying and writing papers. They stretch when you get bloated from too much caffeine, too! Leggings are also great for when you just need to change positions and sit cross-legged.
2. High Top Converse
These are great for comfort (see above: sitting crossed-legged), and you can wear long, thick socks with them, free of judgement. These are great for chilly nights walking home from the library towards the end of fall semester!
3. Scarves
Scarves make your comfortable clothes and lack of showering look more chic! They can keep your neck warm when the library gets too cold, and they're also great for those cold walks to and from the library.
4. Big T-Shirts
These are comfortable (obviously), and they pair well with a sweatshirt or sweater. They are also a blessing when you are just done wearing you-know-whats.
5. Starbucks
You can make your own coffee when the local Starbucks closes, but when you have the money, the special treat of Starbucks can lift your spirits. The espresso helps, too!
6. Meditation Apps
The little time you have for breaks between writing papers, studying and taking exams is great for meditating! There are plenty of free, good meditation apps, and these can help you de-stress quickly and in a healthy manner.
7. Hair Ties
These are necessary for when you have been too busy and have not showered for three days. They also help keep your hair out of your face when you are bent over and looking down, studying. Not to mention that pulling your hair back makes you feel like you can do anything and kick butt!
8. Glasses
If you are visually impaired, like me, long stretches of focusing on papers or on a screen can dry out your contacts. Glasses make it easier to cry when you have just had too much! They also take less time to put on than contacts.
9. Reusable Water Bottles
These help you save plastic and make up for all the used Starbucks cups. Plus, being well hydrated helps keep you awake and more alert. Also, you can refill them as many times as you need at the nearest water fountain.
10. Peppermints
A bag of peppermints is so cheap and super festive. Additionally, they keep you awake, help you concentrate and supposedly help you remember things better as well!
