You Know You're A Neat Freak When

Let's face it...it just has to be clean.

That's right, you know who you are! It starts of with a little bit of denial, but after a while, you'll come to terms with the fact that you are a neat freak. If you don't know that you're a neat freak, here are some signs that prove that you are.

1. Your room is always clean.

...and by "always clean," I really mean ALWAYS...everything is in it's place.

2. What's dirty to you is not dirty for others.

You leave one piece of clothing on the floor or you have to rush and leave without making your bed - it drives you wild and you tell your friends your room is dirty.

3. A dirty kitchen stresses you out.

You can't do anything else until the kitchen is clean.

4. You label things.

You put things in categories and make sure they're organized in a certain way.

5. You enjoy cleaning.

Washing and putting away dishes, mopping the floor, or reorganizing the tupperware is fun.

6. You have a specific way you organize your closet, room, and personal items.

Clothes are folded and separated based on type, color, etc.

7. You clean any time people come to visit.

It doesn't matter if the house is already quite clean, you still do it again anyways.

8. Your friends will always make fun of you.

They don't mean any harm, they just like to point out that you are usually much more organized than they tend to be.

9. You do most of the cleaning.

If you don't do it, you worry someone else might do it the wrong way.

10. You will clean for others.

You find yourself cleaning things for your friends.

11. People have to tell you to stop cleaning.

I once came over to my significant other's house and they caught me doing their dishes. They were confused and made me stop.

I know I'm a neat freak, but I've also been able to laugh about it with past and present roommates, and friends that know me all too well. There's no shame in it, as long as you loosen up a bit, shrug it off, and be yourself. Now...I gotta get back to reorganizing my bookshelf.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
