It seems Christmas Day starts the casual watchers NBA season. And man did the last couple months give us some exciting basketball.
It seems fitting for Vince Carter to end his career at the start of the new decade in one of the most thrilling championship races in recent history. But the biggest things to talk about are trades.
So let's begin what I like to call Where-do-I-want-them-to-go (the name is still a work in progress).
The two biggest names are Andre Drummond and Kevin Love.
First off Drummond: undoubtedly the best re-bounder in the league. His timing and knack for rebounding makes him seem like he is magnetized to the ball. But he hasn't been in a winning situation in awhile. The grit and grind esk Pistons team with a 8th seed appearance last year can't really be amounted to anything but a bad eastern conference. While all the rumors have him at Atlanta, and while this is would spell a good future for Atlanta. As a fan I want him with Kemba at Boston. Get rid of Gordon Hayward and like a second round pick or two and bring him in. Honestly the biggest issue Boston has had is in the center position
A rebounding king in Andre Drummond with Enes coming off the bench is ridiculous. We knock on their front court but Enes is good when he isn't your main front court.Plus potential pick and role with Kemba! This team might just be too hard to guard if they got a front court.
Next is the other front court player: Kevin Love. Who has had a lot of problems with management in Cleveland, needs to get out. But man that guy is suffering. This is when we start the #freeKLove.Although, that contract is crazy for any team to take up. I kind of want him anywhere but Portland. Because the last thing Portland needs is that contract, they need depth and getting him doesn't give them that. Especially when Nurkic is a part of that team. The hope is, for Portland, once play off starts you have Nurkic and Hassan in the front court and Carmelo not getting that many touches. Because the last thing they want is midrange Melo in a series where they can game-plan against him.
My landing spot for Kevin Love: Lakers Land. I have no clue how they will make this work but there has to be some way. A bron Kevin reunion would bring a tear to my eye. And that team may get a stretch big that might give them enough fire power against the unstoppable Giannis.
Either way these are both guys I want to see wearing new uniform soon.
