Why?
Lovers of basketball have never had this much talent to behold at once. In fact, there is arguably more talent in the NBA than ever before!
Countless records are being broken, and we have been fortunate enough to witness once in a generation players on the court at the same time.
LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden are a few future Hall of Fame players that viewers are able to see play on a nightly basis.
Why tune in now?
There has never been a better time to tune into the NBA than now. The past two years have given us a Finals match-up of the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, and fans of the game are hoping for a third.
During their first face-off in the 2015 Finals, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love went down with injuries in game 1 and the Warriors won the series 4-2.
The following year, a healthy Cavaliers team came back from a 3-1 deficit to best the Warriors (a team just took the title from Michael Jordan's 1996 Bulls for the most regular season wins ever (73-9) and were on their way to a perfect season). However, in their defensive, Center Andrew Bogut got injured and Draymond Green was suspended a game.
If there was a third NBA Finals to settle the 1-1 score between the two teams, it would solidify an amazing sports rivalry that will go down in basketball history.
Witnesses
With LeBron on track to become the NBA all-time leader in points, the next few years are going to solidify his placement as possibly the greatest of all time.
It will be hard to imagine a league without LeBron, as he's been the face of the league for over a decade now.
New Rising Talent!
With LeBron and company eventually heading out the door, the NBA is making way for new rising talent. Players such as Kawhi Leonard, Kristaps Porzingis, Karl Anthony Towns, Joel Embiid, Demarcus Cousins, Kyrie Irving, and Giannis Antetokounmpo are going to be the new faces of the NBA sooner than later.
The new kind of players that are rising in the NBA are also proving to be multi-faceted. Big men are as skilled at ball handling and shooting as ever. The center position has definitely been redefined.
Better Talent!
All-around players are becoming the new thing in the league. Taking after LeBron James, players are being able to cover more positions and do most everything on the floor. The LeBron-effect is made apparent, as the NBA is becoming more of a position-less league.
With the recent success of the Warriors, the 3 point shot has also been redefined. More teams are letting it fly from deep, and as a result, shooting, ball movement, and pace have all gone up over the years due to this Warriors-effect.
As a result, the game is much faster. There is more team ball being played and less 1 on 1. Sluggishness is a thing of the past, and showtime basketball is back.
