Warriors-Thunder
Yes, the Warriors are a vastly superior team, but in the age of Twitter, this series could be magical. With Russell Westbrook and Draymond Green, an abundance of technical fouls and spicy quotes are bound to happen. We saw Westbrook take a possible dig at Durant with is photographer outfit, so what is next? Maybe he shows up in a Kevin Durant jersey to the game. This series could be the greatest 4-0 sweep of all time.
A Healthy Ben Simmons
While the Philadelphia 76ers are terrible, they are still pretty fun to watch. With the hype surrounding Joel Embiid, the Sixers-hype will only increase when Ben Simmons makes his debut. Sure, LSU was underwhelming while Ben Simmons was there, but now Simmons is in the big leagues. He has not played even a second in the league, but has already garnered a ton of hype. From being the first pick to the Slam cover, paying homage to Lebron, Simmons has lofty expectations and I am excited to see him next to Embiid.
An unleashed Kristaps Porzingis
Despite being a magical unicorn, Porzingis has weights attached to his legs by the name of Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose. Five years ago, that duo alone would have you competing for a title, but not so much in 2016. I know their contracts are not favorable, but somebody needs to bite this bullet to free Kristaps. When he played the Suns a few games ago, Kristaps hit all four of his three-pointers and dunked all over the Suns, but they still lost in the end. Sure, the Knicks may be good now, but Carmelo seems unable to co-exist with other stars.
The Raptors to Choke
Despite being arguably the second best team in the East, nobody cares about Toronto and rightfully so. They are in Canada, their best player only shoots contested mid-range jumpers, and they are just boring to watch. The only time I enjoy seeing a Raptors player is when Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan are joking around before or after a game. Add in the fact that Drake is affiliated with the Raptors and I cannot wait for their inevitable elimination.
The Suns to Stop Being Terrible
This one is personal because I am a Suns fan, but it seems like forever since they were decent. The Suns were the most popular draw in Phoenix, but now they are just a dumpster fire. Last season, I got a ticket for $5 (they lost) and the atmosphere is not the same as I remembered. From the mid-90’s all the way until Steve Nash left, Suns fans were passionate, but now we are indifferent. All I want is for the Suns to stop sucking!
