This week, I am sharing a recipe for Natural Peanut Butter with you! This recipe was originally posted on my websiteso be sure to checkout that addition for some great pictures of the process like the ones in the sequence below!

I will be showing you how to make your own homemade Natural Peanut Butter, which is absolutely delicious and way more healthy than a store bought jar of Jif, Skippy, or the generic store brand.

All you need for this simple and straightforward recipe is:

  • a food processor
  • a glass food storage jar
  • 12 oz (1 1/2 cups) roasted peanuts, shelled and skinned
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar
  • 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt

After you have your ingredients and materials together, you will need just a few simple steps. Then...VOILA! You will have yourself a jar of delicious, creamy, Vegan, homemade peanut butter!

For this recipe, I buy 12 oz bags of Unsalted, Roasted, In-shell Peanuts. These cost a little over $1, compared to a $4+ jar of mass-produced “natural” peanut butter. To be honest, any kind of store bought peanut butter tastes a little too sugary to me! This was the factor that inspired me to start making my own homemade Natural Peanut Butter.

Because I buy in-shell peanuts, I have to complete the process of removing the shells and skins. This can be a timely process; so, I like to multitask when I'm doing so. I usually tune in to Netflix while I'm taking the time to shell and skin my peanuts. Lately, I've been catching up on the past few seasons of Pretty Little Liars; and, OH MY GOD. That show is absolutely nuts (pun intended)! Whatever you decide to do, make sure that your removing both the shells and skin from your peanuts unless you want some crunchy peanut butter (and not the good kind)!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
