Did you know that there are seventeen different "holidays' dedicated to wine scattered throughout the year? While most of these days are dedicated to a specific type of wine, the kick off holiday on February 18th is solely dedicated to just drinking wine. As if we really needed another reason to end the day with some adult grape juice.
In case you haven't gone wine shopping lately, it can be overwhelming.
Wines can range anywhere from $4 a bottle up to hundreds of dollars. While some wineries are nice enough to put a chart on the back stating where that wine falls on a sweetness level, it's always a risk to buy one that won't be just perfect. For me, I'm all about the labels. If a wine has a great label and doesn't cost as much as a kidney, I'm probably going to give it a shot.
It's no surprise that celebrities want in on the wine industry.
With a quick google search you can find dozens of celebrities that are involved in wine making or ownership of a vineyard. This year, take your wine drinking to the next level with these top-notch celebrity wines that won't empty your bank account.
1. Snoop Dogg - 19 Crimes, Cali Red
This is one of the easiest wines to find around the country since it is carried at most major retailers. 19 Crimes has a variety of blends and convict covered labels. Personally, I love all of the blends this company has to offer. Snoop Dogg's Cali Red is a full bodied wine with notes from the Petite Syrah and Zinfandel families. You can order the wine online here or just check your local stores for a better price.
2. Giuliana Rancic - Xo, G
Carried at some Wal-Mart stores, I give this brand five stars for packaging. Bottled in shatterproof stemless wine glasses, they're ready to go when you want to put forth the least amount of effort. The wine is offered in Moscato, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir and Rosé. If you order here from Saucey they offer a variety pack with a bottle of each of the wines.
3. Cameron Diaz - Avaline
This wine is organically made with no harsh chemicals and vegan! Inspired in 2018 and released in 2020, this is a newer line but still full of options. They have included a Red Blend, Rosé, White Blend and Sparkling available for purchase here.
4. Jon Bon Jovi - Hampton Water
Bon Jovi is a legend, and he was inspired to create a wine based on his time spent at the Hamptons. Filled with strong strawberry flavors and spicy under notes, this oak-aged Rosé will make February feel like Summer. While likely found at higher end liquor stores, you are also able to order this one online as well.
5. Mary J Blige - Sun Goddess Wine
Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc are the wines offered here. While on the dryer side, they are still rich with hints of fruit flavors like peach, melon, banana and berries. Available at most liquor stores and online here.
6. Jana Kramer - One Brick
Jana has the most recent debut in the wine industry, only releasing in January of 2021. Since her and husband, Mike Caussin, have just started creating their wine empire the only available options are a Red Blend and a Chardonnay on their website. Please don't be discouraged yet, though! They are working on more options to be released in the future. Check out their website and place an order here.
7. All Time Low - Everything Is Rosé
Who knew a pop-punk band could also make a killer Rosé? Now, you do, and that's a fun fact to spread around as you sip this masterpiece of flavors. It comes with notes of cotton candy, strawberry, melon, citrus and cherry, making it on the sweeter side of the Rosé spectrum. You can place an order from their official website.
8. Miranda Lambert - Red 55
Out of all the wines I'm presenting you today, Miranda's offers the most variety to choose from. There are 13 different blends to choose from, and you can pair them into variety packs to save yourself a few bucks. With well known song titles such as Vice, White Liar and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as the blend names, you're sure to find something you like at a great price point. Check out all of the options at Red 55 Winery.
9. Sarah Jessica Parker - Invivo X
Relax with a Sex and the City binge night while sipping on a Sauvignon Blanc or Rosé designed by Carrie herself. The Sauvignon Blanc has a dry, tropical noted finish while the Rosé is more approachable with rose and berry flavors. You can check out her official website, but her wines are available at most major retailers as well.
10. Zac Brown - Z. Alexander Brown
While most country men are out making whiskey or rum, Zac comes in and makes a wine to offer up a new market. While the Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Red Blend all come in under $20 a bottle, he also offers a limited release Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon for $120. You will likely have to order this wine from the website, but I have seen it around a few retailers.
11. KISS - KISS Army
If there is a band that offers more types of merchandise than KISS, I would like to meet them. They have their name on anything you can think of, so why would wine be any different? These wines are on the more expensive end of the options on this list, but any good collector owns at least one bottle. They only offer a Cabernet Sauvignon and White Wine Eva, but they give you multiple size options. Check out your ordering options here.
12. Fergie - Ferguson Crest
Fergie and her dad, Pat Ferguson, began their journey into the wine world in 2006 and have created an incredible brand. Offering a variety of white and red blends for only $25 a bottle, with some more expensive limited release options. Check out their full list and shopping options on the website.
13. Little Big Town - Four Cellars
Beginning their journey in 2020 and having eight already released blends and two more coming soon, Little Big Town is beginning to make a big name for themselves to wine connoisseurs around the country. They are not cheap, and the downside is you have to sign up for their wine club to order from their website. But, this is a good bottle to save for a special event. Head to their website to check out the ordering options.
14. Yao Ming - Yao Family Wines
Calling all NBA fans, this is for you! This is an expensive, high end brand but well worth the money for a special occasion. The cheapest bottle comes in at $35, but prices go up into the hundreds. If you want to support an all around good person or give a great gift, check out their available options here.
15. Post Malone - Maison No. 9
Wine is the last thing I would expect from Post Malone, but here he is killing it in the wine industry as well as the music industry. He offers a Rosé currently that is available at all retail locations as well as available to ship from the official website.
