Disclaimer: These are not meant to be completely accurate. I know more about my sorority than any of the others in Panhellenic (of course), so my comparisons are based on what I know and what I could look up. This is all written in good fun.

I like to consider myself to be a very passionate person--two of my biggest passions being sorority life and dank memes. So, I thought, why not combine the two to make one of the most interesting articles in Odyssey Online history? Here's a list of some of the National Panhellenic sororities as dank memes, (which doesn't make a lot of sense).

Kappa Alpha Theta- Chocolate Bird

Known for being the first Greek-letter all women's fraternity, Theta fits perfectly with the Chocolate Bird meme. Even though it is less well-known, Chocolate Bird began circling the internet in early 2011, and is considered by many to be the first "dank" meme. While Theta is a very well-known Panhellenic sorority, not many people know that Theta was the first to be founded as a Greek organization for women.

Alpha Xi Delta- Persian Cat Room Guardian

This furry little creature would fit right in with the Fuzzies! Room guardians like this one are meant to keep negativity out of one's home--the sort of task that would require one to have the courage, graciousness, and peace that the AXiD's display. AXiD's belief in the realization of everyone's potential coincides with the positivity of the Persian Cat Room Guardian.

Zeta Tau Alpha- Steve Harvey's Miss Universe 2015

Since Miss Universe 2015, people have made copious amounts of memes mocking Steve Harvey's on-camera-in-front-of-the-whole-world mistake. But, the spin-offs of this meme aren't what relates it to ZTA. The Miss Universe Pageant is proof of ZTA's motto, "Only the best get crowned," and 2015 was the year that displayed this the most. Not to mention that the values of pageant women can be seen in many sorority women as well.

Delta Delta Delta- Guy Fieri

This one may be pushing it, but I still think it's fairly fitting. Guy Fieri is a walking meme. Everything about him has been forced into meme culture, from his hair and his glasses to his TV show, Diners, Drive-In's, and Dives. Wait a second... Triple D... Tri-Delt... I think it's pretty clear why these two have been paired together.

Alpha Delta Pi- He Was There For Me When No One Else Was

This meme is a tricky one, as its subject is always different. However, the meaning (or should I say, meme-ing) is always the same. Founded in 1851, Alpha Delta Pi was literally there when no one else was. They were the first (and finest) secret society for women and later became an official Greek-letter sorority.

Gamma Phi Beta- Crave That Mineral

Gamma Phi Beta's open motto is "Founded upon a rock". Similarly, Alpine Ibexes have been found on the sides of mountains, licking salt and craving minerals. Alpine Ibexes are known for being a social species that group together based on gender, and they do a lot of climbing and foraging, which all seem to be good examples of Gamma Phi Beta's core values, love (bonding with one another), labor (climbing), learning (finding the right plants to forage for), and loyalty (staying in their groups) and honestly are good examples of how Greek life works in general.

Pi Beta Phi- Don't Blink/ Weeping Angels

The angel is a very-well known, yet technically unofficial, symbol of Pi Phi. The angel was adopted as one of Pi Phi symbols because they used it as a recruitment tactic so often. Angels tend to draw people in, which is why characters in Dr. Who had so much trouble avoiding them and likely why Pi Phi liked to depict themselves as angels in front of PNM's. The weeping angels and the tagline "Don't Blink" are now heavily used in memes.

All-in-all, comparing sororities and memes is pretty difficult. Most of these comparisons are fairly superficial and have no real meaning or depth. But, if you like dank memes and you were able to find your sorority in this list, I hope you found it funny! Sending love to all of Panhellenic.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
