Haley and Nathan Scott are one of the main couples on the series "One Tree Hill." We fell in love with them as we followed as they went to school, started a family, and chased their dreams. Haley and Nathan are one of my favorite couples of show, and there are ten lessons that we can learn from there.

1. It’s okay to wait until marriage.

Haley didn’t want to have sex until marriage, and Nathan respected that. They didn’t have sex until they were married.

2. To follow your dreams, and support the dreams of those that you love.

Haley always supported Nathan’s dreams of being a professional basketball player while Nathan always supported Haley’s dreams of being a musician. That didn’t stop there. Haley and Nathan supported their friends and their dreams.

3. Have each other's backs, and trust one another.

They always had each other's back no matter what. They were always honest with one another.

4. A boy and girl can be best friends and nothing more.

From the very beginning of the show, Haley and Lucas were always best friends. They fought from time to time, but they were always there for each other. They also never had feelings for each other. They loved each other, but it was more in a brother/sister way. Haley and Lucas showed that you can be just friends and nothing more.

5. Just be yourself.

Haley didn’t change for anyone. She was comfortable with who she was. Haley was always herself no matter what people said.

6. People can change.

There were so many characters that changed over the course of the series. Nathan was a bully and a jerk in season one, but we watched him over the next few seasons become a good person, husband, friend, and father.

7. Family is everything.

Nathan and Haley were always there for each other, and they were always there for their children. When things got hard, Nathan and Haley always found a way to work things out even though there were times where they didn’t think it could.

Nathan and Haley eventually forgave his father for everything that he had done, and help his mother through one of the hardest times in her life. Haley also gave Dan a place to stay when he had no other place to go. No matter what, they were always there for their family no matter if it was hard or easy.

8. Life is too short to play games.

Don’t waste any time playing games. If you want something, go for it. We don’t know what tomorrow is going to bring us. So, appreciate everything that you have at this moment. Don’t take anything for granted. And just live life.

Haley James Scott is the best advice giver!

9. Never give up.

Don’t lose hope because hope is so strong. It’s so strong, that sometimes, it’s the only thing that keeps us going. Haley and Nathan never gave up on each other even though there were times that they wanted to.

10. Love with all your heart.

At first, Nathan only wanted to be with Haley to bug Lucas, but he eventually fell in love with her. From that moment on, Nathan always knew that Haley was the one. Haley knew that Nathan was the one for her. I mean, they got married at the end of season one after all! They also loved their friends and family through the good and bad times too.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
