"Nashville" officially got picked up by CMT to begin shooting the revival of "Nashville" after it got cancelled by ABC in May. With a new deal with CMT to air 22 episodes for their season-five revival, Hulu also nabbed a streaming deal to air every single episode the day after it airs on CMT.
Millions of fans rallied together on Friday, June 11, 2016 to celebrate CMT's decision to bring back "Nashville" for a brand new season.
So, what should we expect from the new home for "Nashville?"
I think we should definitely be expecting a new time for the show to air. With a new platform and network, CMT and Lionsgate will probably decide to change the date from Wednesdays at 10 p.m. to a different day and time. Although it is ultimately up the network to decide how "Nashville" will be incorporated into their schedule.
A new network for the show might also bring new writers for the team. If the show is being picked up by a new network (which is the center for country music) and a special online streaming deal, the producers of "Nashville" might want to consider adding a new team of writers to help with the direction of the show. It was unclear exactly why ABC cancelled to begin with, however it might have had something to do with fans not connecting with the storylines in season four.
We should also be ready for the drama to get even crazier. The writers are at free will here to take the show to an entirely new direction with the help of CMT picking the series up for a fifth season. The pressure is definitely high for the writers to give the fans who fought so hard to keep the show running what they deserve. Will we ever get to see Avery and Juliette together?
"Nashville" has been known for having really great artists guest star on the show. With artists such as Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Brad Paisley, Elton John, and Christina Aguilera, the show has never disappointed with bringing fresh faces to our televisions. Who will the writers choose to have guest star in season five? Will CMT be able to bring even more of a wide selection of country artists to the show?
The music will only get better as the show moves to CMT, which is the center for all things country music. With the show moving to CMT, it provides the perfect fit for the show that will give the music aspect a great push forward. "Nashville" is also known for writing really intense scenes that always match perfectly to the original songs they write for each episode.
Who else is really excited for the fifth season of "Nashville?!"
