Nashville Is The Best City, Let Me Tell You Why

You really won't find a better city.

Well, spring break has come and gone yet again, but this one is by far my favorite. I have been searching for a city to call home after college finishes up, but I just did not know where I wanted to go exactly. New York City was too big, L.A. was too far away, and none of the rest really spoke out to me. That was until I thought about Nashville.

It was the perfect distance from home, has a rockin' (literally) nightlife, and the population is rather young so I could meet a lot of people. The next step was to see if I could imagine myself there genuinely. And you know what? I 100% could.

Wanna know why?

Well, there are a million reasons that I am not even going to point out, but I hope to show you through my eyes just how great Nash really is.

It is such a historical place and the city takes pride in that. There is so much depth to Nashville and it sticks. It is so inspiring to see the people that have performed there, lived there, and made Nashville what it is today. You will find a new appreciation for all kinds of music that you did not have before. The music will reach to your soul.

Do you know what goes well with history? Food. Nashville has the best food. No matter where I ate, the food (and drinks) made me want to cry happy tears. The service is also top notch. The waiters/waitresses, bartenders, and receptionists go above and beyond in their jobs with their incredible personalities and genuineness.

Not only do the employees you come in contact with wow you, but also the people you meet are just as great. The energy that surrounds Nashville is encouraging, enthusiastic, and positive. You can't help but smile while you are there and look around in awe.

That energy radiates off of each person that performs in Nashville from the Grand Ole Opry to Kid Rock's Bar downtown. The talent that is within these people is something you will not see anywhere else. You will be constantly entertained. Everyone that gets the opportunity to perform in Nashville is good; there is not a bad place to be or ever a regretful trip. The talent will also teach you not to judge someone from their outward appearances because that talent is within people you wouldn't first guess.

The place is truly magical. It's like a Disney World for adults. You will never run out of things to do and there are endless opportunities. I did not want to leave whatsoever, but I left feeling inspired and absolutely ecstatic about my future. Going back to school feeling motivated in a new way is such a fulfilling feeling.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
