"A short sleep especially during the day" is what Merriam-Webster Dictionary calls a nap. Then there's people like me, who could use words as simple as praiseworthy, heaven, magnificent... More or less, life-savers. There are many different types of naps, each one important to each type of napper. Maybe you fall into one of these categories:
1. Hibernating Nap
Ever wake up three hours later than planned? These are usually the naps that when you wake up, you feel worse afterwards and know that the only option is to go back to bed.
2. Power Nap
Can last anywhere between ten and thirty minutes... But they keep you going for anywhere up to three hours. Probably the world's greatest invention if used properly.
3. Ideal Nap
The ideal nap lasts about 3 hours and you wake up feeling great. The type of nap that you sleep without any interruptions and wake up feeling fully refreshed.
4. The I May as Well go Bed Nap
Ever lay down to watch TV at like 7:00 at night? Then wake up and suddenly it's 11:00? The only option is to just go back to sleep until the morning. Rest up!
5. The Scheduled Nap
The nap that occurs at the same time every day. You would think it's only for preschoolers, but honestly, people at any ages needs scheduled naps.
6. Accidental Nap
Often happens during class or on the job... But usually replenishes well.
7. Procrastination Nap
When you have 7 assignments to do, laundry that needs washed, and a job to go to? Nap it out.
