Phobics-Society

1. Hellenologophobia- The fear of Greek terms or complex scientific terminology. After taking my high school mythology class...I can relate. Whether, in or out of the classroom, the lessons seem to follow.

2. Anuptaphobia- The fear of being or staying single (forever). Ladies, we have all felt this to an extent and sometimes the term #foreveralone has felt all too real. Like when you find out the boy from English class, the love of your life, has a girlfriend...no need to develop this fear. You will be okay!

3. Nyctohylophobia- The fear of dark wooded areas or of forests at night. Just about every horror film has included this exact scene and might have even influenced the rise of this phobia. However, the movie industry also thrives from those who have the opposite of this phobia and love the intense, chair gripping scenes.

4. Decidophobia- Terrified of making decisions. So gentlemen, when your girlfriend is in a fluster about picking which outfit to wear, this can be a possibility. (However, do not accuse her of such a thing or you might end up with Anuptaphobia- see #2)

5. Sociophobia- The fear of social situations. Most likely, this is the person in your group project who won't come to work on the assignment together, but will randomly appear the day it's due with their part done....at least you know they weren't partying too late.

6. Hylophobia- The fear of trees. If this is you, consider looking into an apartment in New York City, but far from central park.

7. Papaphobia- The fear of the pope. Yes, this is real though uncommon. Curious as to how this became a documented phobia...I don't imagine the pope being a remotely threatening person. Note: this differs from hierophobia; the fear of holy individuals or sacred things.

8. Genuphobia- The fear of their own or others' knees. Unfortunately, those who have this phobia will never reach the beach without being in quite a panic. Cover up!

9. Selenophobia- The fear of the moon. This phobia could be paired with Nyctohylophobia (#3)seeing as both have been so commonly found through horror films, especially during the ware wolf craze.

And lastly....

10. Phobophobia- The fear of phobias. As contradicting as the definition is, this is real.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
